I went to an air show at Andrews Air Force Base today. I’ve never been to one but I found out about it a few days ago and became very excited at the prospect of photographing stuff.
We had to park at Fedex Field to take a shuttle bus to the base which is a few miles away. It’s for security reasons and for security reasons, it took us an hour to get from the field to the base (and the return trip but that was because everyone was trying to leave at that point). You know what though? It was totally worth it. I got some amazing shots with my 18-135mm lens. When I took them at first, I thought the planes would come out too small and that may true for many but I was surprised by how many came out great.
Some photographers there had some serious lenses and I’m not going to lie; I had some serious lens envy.
